The Work under this Contract is to be performed on the east side of Manhattan along the Harlem River in New York, NY. The Site is generally bounded to the South by Harlem River Greenway between 132nd and 133rd streets, to the East by the Harlem River, to the North by the 145th Street Bridge, and to the West by the FDR Drive.

Perform demolition activities, including, but not limited to:
1. Selective demolition of and removal of certain structures and portions of existing bulkheads, including but not limited to the removal of existing timber pile supported platforms, existing high level pile supported platforms, existing timber crib structures and seawalls, and removal of other features to perform the Work. Decontaminating, segregating, processing, transporting, staging, and managing the material for disposal to an Owner-approved facility. Store materials that will be re-installed in approved location within Contractor Staging Area or at an Owner approved off-Site location secured by the Contractor.

Reconstruction of the existing shoreline structures including about 2,870 linear feet of high level pile supported platform and about 220 feet of gravity retaining structure along the Harlem River as shown on the Drawings. Construction of the multi-component barrier wall system shall include, but not be limited to;
1. Furnish and installation of pile supported platforms. Platform piles and sheet pile return and closure walls will be installed using methods that do not exceed the vibration and settlement criteria of adjacent structures.
2. Furnish and installation of gravity retaining structures.
3. Excavation of soils behind portions of existing bulkheads for installation of new shoreline structures. Handling and segregation of soils (excess materials and suitable on-Site soils). Stockpiling, processing and testing for off-Site disposal. Transportation of excess materials for disposal at an Owner-approved facility.
4. Furnish and installation of precast concrete pile caps at each platform bent.
5. Furnish and installation of cast in place sheet pile caps.
6. Furnish and installation of precast concrete deck panels for the platform.
7. Furnish and installation of cast in place concrete topping slab system.
8. Placement and compaction of approved imported soils and aggregate material as shown on the drawings.
