Central Midlands Council of Governments (CMCOG) in coordination and cooperation with its member jurisdictions, The Comet and the South Carolina Department of Transportation will perform Regional Transportation Systems Management and Operations & Regional Intelligent Transportation System Plan. The project involves the development of a regional transportation systems management and operations (TSMO) plan for the Central Midlands Region and the Columbia Area Transportation Study Metropolitan Planning Organization that creates a road map for implementation of an integrated system of TSMO, including intelligent transportation systems (ITS), and other technologies and strategies to enhance the efficiency, safety, and sustainability of the transportation system and achieve other goals identified in the 2045 Regional Long Range Transportation Plan.
