Project Description:
Elimination of (12) center median median barrier openings from Milepost 1.5 to Milepost 39.9, and construction of two (2) grade separated U-Turn bridges over the NJTPK at Mileposts 6.40 and 19.00 in Salem, Gloucester and Burlington Counties, NJ.

Bridges shall be 2-span continuous structural steel with cast-in-place HPC concrete decks and barrier parapets. Abutments, wingwalls, and piers will be founded on 16-inch concrete filled steel pipe piles. Bridge retaining walls will be prefabricated modular walls. Ground improvement at the bridge ramp embankments will consist of the use of ultra-lightweight fill. Approach roadway work will include hot-mix asphalt pavement; beam guide rail and end terminals; signing and pavement striping; and drainage pipes, inlets, swales, and basins.
