PLA - Project Labor Agreement
This project will renovate an area of approximately 6,232 square feet on the Ground Floor of Shepard Hall, Room 51. The program requirements include flexible classroom space separated walls with folding wall, shared workspaces with interior glass wall opening to one larger space, Hand-on project room, recording room, conference room, simulator room, office, exhibition room and storage space. All new teaching spaces to be equipped with educational technology and internet connectivity. Construction work includes new includes new partitions, doors, and frames, finishes, new ceilings and lighting with associated wiring, fire alarm and life safety systems, electrical work and AV/ IT cabling distribution, new HVAC distribution system as required, and furniture and equipment. Work also includes hazardous material inspection, removal, and abatement. Scope includes temporary facilities and controls; cutting and patching; construction waste management; contract closeout requirements. Existing Conditions: Alteration project procedures; selective demolition; asbestos removal; LCP/LBP disturbances using OSHA Lead Safe Work Practices; identification and disposal of hazardous waste; removal and disposal of universal waste. Concrete: Cement leveling compound. Metals: Post installed anchors; suspended ceiling support assemblies; miscellaneous metals. Wood, Plastics, and Composites: Rough carpentry; finish carpentry and millwork. Thermal and Moisture Protection: Flashing and sheet metal; acoustic insulation; fire stopping; joint sealers. Openings: Steel doors and frames; STC rated doors; custom stile and rail wood and glass door; access doors and panels; aluminum and glass storefront system; architectural wood replacement windows; door hardware; finish hardware for architectural wood doors; glass and glazing; frameless glazed partitions and doors; louvers. Finishes: Interior plaster patching; plaster and gypsum board assemblies; acoustic panel ceiling (ACT); acoustic architectural panels; resilient flooring; Portland cement terrazzo flooring; painting and finishing. Specialties: Operable folding partition; fire extinguisher cabinets; vinyl wall graphics. Furnishings: Roller window shades. Plumbing: Sleeves and sleeve seals for plumbing piping; escutcheons for plumbing piping; hangers and supports for plumbing piping and equipment; plumbing piping insulation; domestic water piping; sanitary waste and vent piping; sanitary waste piping specialties. Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC): Sleeves and sleeve seals for HVAC piping; meters and gauges; general-duty valves for HVAC piping; hangers and supports for HVAC piping and equipment; mechanical vibration controls; mechanical identification; testing, adjusting, and balancing; duct insulation; HVAC piping insulation; HVAC instrumentation and controls; hydronic piping; metal ducts; air duct accessories; mixed flow HVAC fans; diffusers, registers, and grilles; indoor air handling unit. Electrical: Low-voltage electrical power conductors and cables; grounding and bonding for electrical systems; hangers and supports for electrical systems; raceways and boxes for electrical systems; sleeves and sleeve seals for electrical raceways and cabling; identification for electrical systems; wiring devices; enclosed switches and circuit breakers; variable-frequency motor drives; architectural lighting fixtures - lighting schedules, lighting cut sheets; panel boards; fire alarm system.
