Kerex Engineering, Inc. is requesting quotes from all qualified DBE & Non-DBE subcontractors and suppliers for the following items of work including but not limited to; Asphalt, Trucking, SWPPP, Earthwork, Striping, Landscape, Traffic Control, and Slurry Seal. The proposed improvements along East 12th Street from 35th Ave to International Blvd. generally include sidewalk, curb & gutter, ADA curb ramps, driveways, median, raised bike lane buffer concrete islands, traffic circles, storm drain systems, chain-link fence on Caltrans bridge rails, speed humps, pavement resurfacing and crack sealing, traffic signal modifications, video detection system, signing and striping, retrofit trash capture screens, and landscaping and other incidental work including survey staking, traffic control, coordination with various public agencies including Caltrans, and various utility companies. Site cleaning, restoration, and removal of debris, equipment, and excess material from the sites upon completion of miscellaneous work, including removal of concrete forms, disposal off-site of all unsuitable materials, and cleanup of the site.

Kerex Engineering, Inc. can assist in the payment of a reasonable bond premium. A 100% payment bond and performance bond may be required for the full amount of the subcontract price. Please provide a bond premium rate with your quote. Please note that no contractor or subcontractor may be listed on a bid proposal for a public works project (submitted on or after March 1, 2015) unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5 [with limited exceptions from this requirement for bid purposes only under Labor Code section 1771.1(a)]. Subcontractors must possess a current contractor's license, insurance and workers compensation coverage meeting the owner's requirements and will be required to sign the standard Kerex Engineering, Inc. subcontract agreement. Hector Barajas (hector@kerexengineering.com) is the Estimator for this project and is available to provide you with assistance to clarify any questions regarding the scope of work, including interpretation of plans, specifications and requirements, bid preparation and obtaining bonds, lines of credit, insurance and any technical assistance. Kerex is a Union Contractor. Any non-signatory subcontractors will be required to sign an agreement for trades covered under our agreements.)
