Project Overview & Scope

Kerex Engineering, Inc. is seeking quotes from qualified DBE and Non-DBE subcontractors, suppliers, and truckers for the public restroom renovation and site improvements project located at the Rio Vista Municipal Airport (3000 Baumann Road, Rio Vista, CA 94571). The overall scope of work involves complete site paving, concrete, and interior building renovations. Site work includes asphalt and dike removal, subgrade grading and compaction, aggregate base installation, asphalt concrete paving, concrete curbs, gutters, sidewalks, striping, traffic control, SWPPP, landscaping, debris trucking, and final site cleanup. The building scope entails a full interior renovation of the existing public restroom to meet current 2025 California Building Code, Title 24 accessibility standards. This includes removing existing fixtures, partitions, accessories, and flooring down to the slab, followed by the installation of new plumbing fixtures, toilet partitions, accessories, resinous epoxy flooring, fiberglass-reinforced plastic (FRP) wainscot, new paint, and associated electrical work. To encourage participation, work packages may be divided into smaller, manageable units.

Subcontractor Requirements & Assistance

All submitting subcontractors must possess a valid California contractor's license, meet owner insurance and workers' compensation requirements, and agree to sign Kerex Engineering, Inc.'s standard subcontract agreement. In accordance with California Labor Code section 1725.5, all contractors and subcontractors must be registered with the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) to participate in public works bidding. Kerex Engineering, Inc. is a Union Contractor, and any non-signatory subcontractors will be required to execute an agreement for covered trades. While a 100% Payment and Performance Bond may be required for the full subcontract amount, Kerex can assist in paying a reasonable bond premium (please include your rate with your sub-bid).
