The Office of Minority Business Enterprise at the Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs is in charge or administering and maintaining the states' minority business enterprise (MBE) program. Through the program, MBEs and women business enterprises (WBEs) can become certified for two years. As a state-certified MBE or WBE in Alabama, companies can access bid opportunities, training and networking events, and be included on the state's list of certified MBE businesses.

How do I get re-certified? Re-certification is required following two years of certification. At that time, a streamlined re-certification affadavit may be submitted. This process may be repeated two years after the first submission of such an affadavit. After another two years, however, a business wishing to be re-certified must go back through the initial full certification process.
