The Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) maintains a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Program. Certain socially and economically disadvantaged businesses may be certified as DBEs. DBE certification allows a firm to be listed in the WYDOT directory of DBEs. Additionally, certain federally assisted transportation projects will generally have DBE participation goals attached to them. Participants are required to make a good faith effort to involve certified DBEs in the bidding process. Beginning the application process to become a DBE in Wyoming may be performed online at the WYDOT website.
Does this local/state program offer reciprocal certifications with other local/state programs? WYDOT offers interstate certification for DBEs but the process is not automatic, and application will not be considered unless the business in question is already certified as a DBE by its home state.
Does this certification expire? A no-change affidavit must be filed annually in order to stay current with one's DBE certification.
