The State of New Jersey offers a Small Business Enterprise (SBE) certification. The criteria for eligibility is listed in full on the program web page. The certification is open to businesses having 100 or fewer employees, among other listed criteria. There are several sub-categories within the certification that vary depending on which of the criteria an SBE meets. SBEs are eligible to be awarded contracts through the New Jersey Small Business Set-Aside Program. Additionally, the State maintains a goal of awarding 25 percent of "state contracting and purchase order dollars" to SBEs.
