The DuPage County Community Development Commission (CDC) accepts minority and women-business (MBE/WBE) certifications from other certificating entities in the State of Illinois, including the City of Chicago and the Illinois Department of Central Management, but if a firm does not possess another recognized certification they can become certified with the county directly.
Once a firm is certified as an MBE/WBE by DuPage County or has their certification recognized by the county, they are include on its Minority and Women Business Enterprise list. The list is used by vendors that as awarded CDC contractors that are in need of MBE/WBE subcontractors on the projects.
Does this local/state program offer reciprocal certifications with other local/state programs? Businesses that have been given the relevant certifications by any of: City of Chicago, Cook County, Illinois Department of Central Management, National Minority Supplier Development Council, Woman's Business Enterprise National Council, or Woman-Owned Small Business Certification through SBA, may apply through an Abbreviated Application.
