Companies owned by a female, a minority group member, a service-connected disabled veteran, or a person with a disability can become certified as a Targeted Small Business (TSB), through a program run by the Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA). As a TSB, the state will consider you when seeking bids for goods and services. TSBs can also take adavantage of low-interest loan and grant programs administered through the IEDA.

Does this program require bidders attempt to make a good-faith effort to meet participation goals? All Iowa state agencies are required to maintain annual TSB participation projections and quarterly TSB participation goals, though this is a responsibility of the agencies.

Is any loan or bonding assistance provided through this program? TSBs, along with the public, have access to loans made through the Iowa Center for Economic Success. The criteria used for the loan program is the same as the criteria for TSB certification.
