Baltimore County has earmarked an overall 15 percent of its spending for minority- (MBEs) and women-owned businesses (WBEs). Through the county's Minority and Women's Business Enterprise Program, eligible businesses can become recognized to participate for the set-aside contracts, take part in training and outreach events, and receive procurement assistance.
The county does not certify MBE and WBE firms, but it accepts the certifications conferred by the Maryland Department of Transportation Minority Business Enterprise Office and the City of Baltimore Minority Business Enterprise Office.
Does this local/state program offer reciprocal certifications with other local/state programs? The only certifications are made through MDOT and the City of Baltimore.
