The Office of Equity and Diversity (OED) in Genesee County requires firms to obtain a Certificate To Do Business (CTDB) in order to conduct business with the county. Recognition is given to firms that are minority-owned or woman-owned, or person-with-disability-owned. Certification as such is valuable as it allows for being counted towards procurement goals on certain projects when a good-faith effort is made to reach out to these firms.
