Substation 128 at Mamaroneck:
North of Track 3 near Rockland Ave in Mamaroneck NY
Substation 178 at Harrison:
North of Track 3, approximately 2.5 miles east of Substation 128. Macy Road in Harrison NY 10528

Project Scope of Work:
The project will replace existing AC traction power substations with new prefabricated walk-in substation enclosures, including associated autotransformers, arc resistant switchgear, control equipment, riser structures, wash lines, SCADA and other required circuitry with necessary safeties.

The new substations will improve MNR’s power supply capacity and the resiliency of the AC traction power supply system with energy efficiency upgrades on the New York State portion of New Haven Line. The new substations will ensure sustainability, resiliency and service reliability in case of an outage at another substation on the New Haven Line due to weather conditions, planned maintenance or transmission line trouble. In addition to replacing the existing substations, the Design-Builder shall install new 500 kcmil wires along the right of way, connecting the new Substation 178 at Harrison to existing Substation 193 at Pike.

There is a 22.5% NYS DBE participation goal for this Project. DBE firms are encouraged participate.

The Bidder will be required to quote in compliance with all project plans and specifications. Non-Disclosure Agreements are provided when applicable. Addenda is posted and notification is sent to all invited bidders.

Insurance Requirements
Upon award, Subcontractors must provide insurance in accordance with our subcontract agreement. A copy of the subcontractor agreement can be found in Building Connected Project Plan Room.

Bonding Requirements
For subcontracts the Bidder shall furnish Performance and Payment Bonds equal to the full subcontract price. For Material Contracts, the bidder shall furnish Supply Bonds in amount equal to full Material Contract price. Bond premiums are reimbursable by Kiewit/Mass. Electric Construction Co.
Please provide current bond rate with Quote/Proposal or advise if you are unable to bond so that we my address this issue.
