Brief Description of Work

The Work of this Contract includes the replacement of the existing fixed-block, relay-based signal system on tracks A3 and A4 north of High Street Station to south of Euclid Avenue interlocking on the 8th Avenue “A/C” line; tracks B1 and B2 on the 6th Avenue “F” line from south of the York Street interlocking to north of the Bergen Street interlocking (collectively, the “Fulton Line”) with a Train Control System (“TCS”) based on Communication Based Train Control (“CBTC”) with integrated Zone Controllers (“iZC”) and Automatic Train Supervision. The TCS shall be designed for CBTC operation with signal protection provided for degraded mode train movements. The TCS provided by the Design-Builder must reliably operate under MTA’s Interoperability Interface Specification (“I2S”), and meet the requirements set forth in this Contract. The Design-Builder shall also provide physical rooms or enclosures in stations on the Fulton Line to create Train Control Rooms (“TCR”) in which the equipment supplied by the Design-Builder will be installed and operated in support of the TCS in which the TCS equipment supplied by the Design-Builder will be installed and operated in support of the TCS. The Work is more fully described in the PRDCs.
