The primary objective of this contract is to construct the KEC tunnel, Shafts 1C and 2C, and excavate the rock in order to construct the SC structure in a future contract.
Principal Items of Work:

a. Structural Work: Support of excavation for Screen Chamber (SC) and Eastview Connection Chamber (ECC), excavation and structural lining for Shafts 1C and 2C, excavation and tunnel lining for KEC Tunnel and Shaft 1C Connection Tunnel, excavation and initial support for section of Dike Grade Return Tunnel and UEC Connection Tunnel

b. Civil Work: Soil and rock excavation of SC and ECC, stock pile removal, new permanent South Access Road, utility relocation, site grading, erosion and sediment control, storm water management

c. Architectural Work: Vent structure on Shaft 1C

d. Mechanical Work: Well pipes for unwatering, chemical feed pipes embedded in Shaft 1C and Shaft 1C Connection Tunnel, conduits for flow meter

e. Electrical Work: Temporary substation for construction power at Eastview, electrical connection for future and existing facilities, connecting to Electrical Building feed at Kensico.
