The City of Orlando has it's own minority and women business (MBE/WBE) program separate from the State of Florida. As a city-certified MBE/WBE, a company is listed in the city's M/WBE Internet Database, which is used by companies seeking local MBE/WBE vendors, and is eligible to participate in city programs designed to help these businesses. All certification applications must be submitted through the city's Certification Unit Web site.

Does this certification expire? Renewal of certification or recognition status, once approved, is valid for a period of one year, after which, when renewed, it is be valid for a period of two years. Applications for such renewal must be submitted to the city at least 60 days prior to the expiry of certification or recognition.
