Harrisburg launches disparity survey

PA News - Published Jun 23, 2022

The City of Harrisburgh is currently in the process of conducting a disparity study into the experiences of minority-, women-, disabled-, veteran- and LGBTQ-owned businesses that have done (or attempted to do) business with the City. As part of that study, the City has released a survey that diverse businesses can complete. The results will form part of the data upon which the study's conclusions rest.

Businesses located in Dauphin, York, Lancaster, Adams and Cumberland counties in Pennsylvania are eligible to fill out the survey, which has 23 questions. Questions will cover topics such as the ownership of the firm and also include questions of respondents' experiences in public contracting.

Once the study is released, the City plans on using its recommendations to inform new practices relating to how the City conducts its procurement.
