The City of Grand Prairie is beginning the process of conducting a disparity study which will examine the experience of businesses, specifically businesses owned by minorities, women, veterans, and service-disabled veterans, in doing, or attempting to do business with the City.
The conclusions of the study may inform whatever steps the City takes to remedy such disparities, if disparities between the availability of such businesses and their utilization by the City in its procurement procedures should be found. The City is soliciting direct feedback from impacted businesses as part of its methodology. As such, an online business survey is now open at the website for the study (link below). The City also expects to conduct focus groups, one-on-one interviews, and other methods of gathering testimony and information. One-on-one interviews may also be signed up for at the study's website.
