The Montgomery County Office of Procurement has issued its Record of Procurement Annual Report for fiscal year 2024. Among other things, the Report shows that the Minority, Female and Disabled-Owned Business Program (MFD) awarded over $248 million to certified MFD businesses during the 2024 fiscal year, and the Local Small Business Reserve Program (LSBRP) awarded over $130.5 million to certified LSBRP businesses during the 2024 fiscal year.
That awards represents the highest dollar amounts awarded to MFDs and LSBRPs since the inception of the programs. The MFD figure additionally represents 23.5 percent of the total contract dollars spent during the period that were eligible for MFD spending (that being a little over $1 billion), with the LSBRP figure representing 32.2 percent of the total contract dollars spent during the period that were eligible for LSBRP spending.
"These achievements reflect our unwavering commitment to supporting local businesses and ensuring that minority, female and disabled-owned businesses are empowered to succeed," said Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich in a statement.
